Katie Newcomb is happy to join Athena Communications as a communications consultant; lending her public and community relations expertise to an already stellar and dynamic team that does great work for clients in southeastern Wisconsin.
Prior to joining Athena, Ms. Newcomb held numerous marketing and public relations positions in Milwaukee; including tenure with the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum, Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, the Milwaukee Brewers, and the Milwaukee Public Museum. In 2006, she launched her own freelance marketing company, Giving Tree Events, LLC, where her business philosophy included giving a portion of all profits to local charities. To keep her creative writing skills sharp, Ms. Newcomb penned for several outlets including: community blogging for Milwaukee Magazine, contributor for Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s MetroParent Magazine, Taste of Home national magazine, and her own early-reader children’s book, Balthazar The Pink.

In her spare time, Ms. Newcomb is an advisory board member of the Oconomowoc Area Foundation; a marketing and development committee member of PEARLS for Teen Girls; communications and economic development co-chair for The Route of the Badger (within the Rails to Trails organization), an avid runner, and constant redecorator.
Ms. Newcomb is a Milwaukee native and resident of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin where she is the proud mother of two rambunctious and kind-spirited boys, and a graduate of Marquette University with a degree in broadcasting and theatre.
